Three couples tell us about their thought process around shared parental leave, and how they came to a decision.
Despite being a right for all new parents, the uptake of Shared Parental Leave is still very low. This might be for a number of different reasons, from personal choice through to financial reasons.
Workingmums.co.uk and Daddilife.com teamed up to talk to three couples about their decision making process.
Two of the couples decided to take the leave, and one couple decided it wasn’t right for their family.
They explain their reasons in the video below.
As you can see, the couples who chose to share parental leave actually found there were a lot of different options for the time off – including both having some time off together with the baby or taking part of the leave in turns.
