A job and community site for working dads looking for flexibility and improved work-life balance.
More than 10 years ago workingmums.co.uk was founded by senior communications manager Gillian Nissim in 2006 after the birth of her second child. She found herself and many of her friends in a similar position, needing flexible yet challenging work, but not being able to find it. She decided to bridge the gap between those employers who were able to offer flexibility, whether that was full-time work with flexi hours or some homeworking or part-time work or any other form of flexible working, and parents who were seeking flexible positions.
Since then it the website has grown significantly, alongside a shift in how families manage home and working life. More than ever the focus is on enabling dads to be more involved with parenting by supporting them in finding flexible jobs, as well as encouraging more fathers to take Shared Parental Leave and other schemes.
Mums, carers and other flexible job seekers
Since flexible working is becoming the new norm for everyone, workingdads.co.uk of course also welcomes dads, carers and other flexible job seekers - anyone can apply for roles or seek advice on a flexible working issue irrespective of gender or parental status.
The workforce in the UK is changing.
By 2020 1 in 3 workers will be over 50, and by 2030 half of all adults in the UK will be over 50. Understanding the challenges and opportunities of an ageing population is vital if we want to create productive, innovative and inclusive multi-generational teams as we all lead longer working lives.
workingwise.co.uk is a job and community site specially focused on older workers looking for flexibility and improved work-life balance, and the employers who recognise what they have to offer.
