The goal is to make more businesses promote flexible working during recruitment, not just at the point of hire.
The CIPD and partners Working Families and the UK Government’s Flexible Working Taskforce are re-launching the ‘Happy to Talk Flexible Working’ campaign.
The campaign encourages employers to promote flexible positions at their company by utilising the ‘Happy to Talk Flexible Working’ strapline and logo in advertisements.
Peter Cheese, Chief Executive, CIPD, said, “By using the tagline ‘Happy To Talk Flexible Working’ in job advertisements, employers can open up recruitment to wider talent pools and create fairer and more inclusive workplaces. This transparency supports workers to ask for flexibility.”
The UK Government recently announced the Flexible Working Bill received Royal Assent, with the law coming into force from 2024 onwards.
The demand for flexible working continues to grow, according to CIPD research, which flagged six per cent of UK employees moving jobs in the last 12 months because their employer didn’t offer suitable flexible working options.
