There’s still two weeks to Christmas, so here’s some stuff we recommend for the father of the house (or as a cheeky present for yourself)…
I don’t know about you, but I see more and more dads at the school gates wielding a scooter, so why not give one a go yourself? This is pretty much the best there is – wide wheels to aid even the most wobbly of riders, a kick stand and simple folding and unfolding mechanism. It feels really robust too.

This really simple device clips onto your phone and gives you a much wider angle for your shots and selfies. It requires a bit of jiggling to get into the right position, but once that’s sorted, it’s a really useful addition, particularly for those who fancy themselves as a bit of an amateur snapper.

Ostensibly these are for gaming and they are great for that – cool colours which change and pulse, really comfortable as well as crystal clear sound. But we’ve been using them for work calls too and they thrive here as well – blocking out the noise of the office while being totally plug and play.

A good torch is a home essential and this is one of the best. Incredibly sturdy, a fantastic beam and the capacity to hook this onto stuff means it’s really versatile and professional-feeling. It’s always hard to find good moisturiser for one’s face, but as winter takes hold, something which works well with a beard or stubble is vital. This is primarily to soften the bristles before you shave, but we’ve found it also works really well if you want to keep the hirsute look. It smells subtle but masculine, you only need a small amount and it makes your face feel lovely.
