Starbucks embraces National Apprenticeships Week

It’s National Apprenticeships Week and Starbucks are recognising the value of the scheme by recruiting a new team member who will undertake a Hospitality Team Member Level 2 apprenticeship as part of the job.

Apprenticeships have traditionally been seen as a young person’s opportunity, but many schemes are now open to jobseekers of all ages, from working parents to older people.

The Starbucks role, which is a barista, will allow the candidate to specialise in a particular area, but the skills they will learn on this apprenticeship will also allow them to work across all different areas of the business as well.

The scheme will allow workers to develop their knowledge of the industry and gain important hospitality skills. Following completion of this apprenticeship, there may be opportunities for career progression and further study at a higher level.

This is the 15^th annual Apprenticeships Week, which was set up to bring together businesses and apprentices across the country and to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make to individuals, businesses and the wider economy. This year’s theme is “Build the Future”, reflecting on how apprenticeships can help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career, and businesses to develop a talented workforce that is equipped with future-ready skills.
