A new poll asking about children and social media unearthed some shocking findings.
Almost two thirds of parents worry that online bullying is a threat to their child online.
A new poll by ExpressVPN found that being bullied on social media topped the concerns dads and mums have about their children.
Sixty per cent worried most about grooming, while less than thirty per cent considered digital scams to be at the top of the list.
Interestingly, the survey also asked children what kinds of things had happened to them while they were online – of the respondents, only 17% said they had actually experienced bullying.
However, top of the list was someone being rude or swearing at them, which illustrates how youngsters might not be able to differentiate, or indeed identify exactly what qualifies as bullying.
Just over a quarter of kids said they had seen scary videos.
Almost 40% of children from Belfast said they’d experienced bullying, followed by 24% from Manchester.
Only 14% of those from Birmingham said they’d been bullied online.
