Inmarsat’s Chief People Office (CPO) comprises a HR Business Partnering function who deliver people services with the support of the Centres of Excellence – Reward, Resourcing, HR Services & Systems, Organisational Effectiveness & Engagement & Communication and Real Estate & Facilities.  Our purpose is twofold; to drive business performance and enabling our people to be brilliant.

Job Description

Primary role purpose:

The HRIS function is a small but critical team that sits within the Chief People Office Business Unit. We support, develop and drive all corporate wide HR Systems initiatives and are responsible for producing regular and ad-hoc people metrics and data. Our core HRIS platform is SuccessFactors and this sits at the heart of our HR Systems initiatives.

The purpose of the HRIS Business Analyst role is to support the delivery of our global initiatives and projects through to the day-to-day support of SuccessFactors and other HR Technology.

Instrumental in the configuration, implementation and maintenance of HR Technology, working with the HRIS Team to maintain and enhance functionality to meet the requirements of our people and business processes.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience of working on projects with an understanding of the full project life-cycle.

The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent business analysis skills coupled with excellent techniques and ideally with methodology. They should be confident with the ability to work well the stakeholders and to guide and lead them to successful end results.

Key Responsibilities:

This role will be the first point of contact for all HR system related queries from staff globally and involves:

  • Acts as the bridge between the business, HRIS team and the global CPO team
  • Support the wider CPO team with global projects throughout the implementation lifecycle
  • Manage various stakeholders globally and agree on delivery timelines and accountability
  • Perform business analysis and project management related tasks such as gathering requirements, creating documentation, supporting implementation and testing, with a focus on high quality of service
  • Responsible for overall quality assurance, test scripts & co-ordinating with user groups and gathering feedback
  • Explore innovative ideas to solve business needs and design possible technical solutions
  • Identify how the business uses technology and what their goals are in line with identified requirements
  • Identify problems within the business relating, through data modelling techniques and process flows, As-Is/To-Be process mapping
  • Have the ability to streamline processes
  • Partner with functions such as Finance, Group IT, Risk and Audit, governance to ensure processes are robust
  • Troubleshoot, analyse, detect, identify and correct technical problems and deficiencies, escalating where appropriate
  • Documenting and mapping of any change requests
  • Training the business and global CPO team on system functionality, running workshops and championing user adoption of all HR technology
  • Documentation management, developing training content and KBAs
  • Shared responsibility of first line support with other team members
  • Systems administration tasks, including data uploads, data cleansing and workflow design

Qualifications

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience of working with SuccessFactors
  • SAP Employee Central certified
  • Hands-on project management experience supporting complex projects
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR processes and in-depth understanding of HR systems infrastructure
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills and highly competent in building strong relationships across all levels and effective with stakeholder management
  • A process improvement mind and the ability to analyse problems in detail and propose practical solutions
  • Ability to plan, balance priorities and ultimately deliver in a busy environment and as such, communicate those out to stakeholders and management
  • The ability to sensitively deal with highly confidential information and data
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of using Excel to produce reports and analyse data is essential including functions such as V-Look ups and Pivot tables to present data clearly
  • A keen and proactive approach
  • HR/Payroll/L&D/Recruitment administration experience highly beneficial

Desirable Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience in implementing a new system or significant additional functionality within an existing system
  • Experience with ServiceNow or other ticketing systems
  • Experience with Smart Recruiters (ATS) and Enboarder (onboarding)
  • Any other exposure to Cloud based HR systems
  • Experience of working with global teams
  • Experience of Co-ordaining testing efforts across teams
  • Experience of working in a customer focused environment
  • Exposure to Agile project management methodologies
