Overview
 

As a member of the engineering team, the successful candidate will oversee the operations of the storage infrastructure world-wide, with a focus on DELL EMC Isilon technology.


Responsibilities
 

  • Implement, support and document reliable, fault tolerant operations of the storage infrastructure with a particular focus on the SAN/NAS platforms.
  • Troubleshoot incidents and document procedures to support systems that provide critical business functions to a broad range of client devices globally. 
  • Help forecast infrastructure planning and documentation for storage platforms on prem and cloud based.
  • Manage storage technologies and growth, coordinate and manage client/server disaster recovery planning.
  • Provide Tier three server support to Technical Operations Center.
  • Provide tier three support for production operations which include Storage Systems administration, Installation and maintenance of storage operating systems.
  • Write procedures, reports, tasks, impact analysis and documentation to support all the storage infrastructure.
  • Contributor to Incident, Problem and Change Management processes.


Qualifications
 

  • 3 - 5 Years information systems experience in a level three/four support role.
  • 3 -5 years’ experience in a Dell EMC Isilon production platform, ideally in a Broadcast environment.
  • At least 3 - 5 years’ experience in their configuration and design.
  • Development and enforcement of standards, policies and best practices are expected in this role.
  • Education – Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills. Strong client interface and verbal and written communication skills.  Administrative, prioritization, organizational, and customer service skills.  Ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Detailed understanding of the following technologies: TCP/IP, DNS, CIFS, NFS, and VMware technologies (vSphere, vCenter, etc).
  • Experience working within an ITIL methodology is desired.
  • Must be comfortable developing scripts with at least one scripting language.
  • Experience with some or all of the following technologies are desired but not required: Chef, Puppet, build automation
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure
  • Perform other duties as needed

  • Candidate should have strong communication skills and be able to clearly and ably articulate a technical vision to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Standards and policies developed by candidate will be global in nature and will be referenced by engineers at all global Discovery offices.
