Commercial and Product Management

Inmarsat’s Commercial & Product Management (CPM) group is accountable for ensuring the voice of the customer is heard and used in all aspects of defining our offer. Coupling customer insight with market intelligence, this informs our product strategy, our channel strategy and our commercial offer. In addition, it helps us support the business to win, grow and retain customers as well as allowing us to be clearer on how we will partner with other players who can create value, and why partnering and working with Inmarsat is valuable to them. CPM also focuses on how to develop, deliver and maintain the right products and services to be competitive, ensuring our costs to serve are optimised and reducing complexity.

Job Description

Primary role purpose: To deliver the day-to-day administrative, commercial, and operational support needed to win, grow, and maintain business to the direct and indirect business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides trusted support, advice, and the delivery of services to our partners, customers, and account managers that enables revenue creation and retention.
  • Build sustainable relationships with key customers and internal stakeholders through open and interactive communication
  • Together with the account manager, sales support is a key contact person for our customers seeking assistance with sales of our product and service portfolio and will liaise with other internal departments to assist with customer requests.
  • Contribute to overall customer satisfaction by providing reliable and prompt responses to their inquiries
  • Work closely with account managers to ensure credit, pricing, and stock are considered for new business opportunities.
  • Assist customers with questions relating to pricing, provide equipment quotations, and subscriptions quotation
  • Facilitate the creation of new customer accounts in support of the onboarding process.
  • Creates and manages customer orders for approval and the shipment of equipment
  • Maintains Customer MasterData (CMD) in line with Inmarsat polices and within the tools provided.
  • Works according to company procedures and guidelines implementing Inmarsat Distribution policy as formulated by the management
  • Initiates process improvements and supports the successful deployment of changes into the lead to Order Process via participation in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions.

Qualifications

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor degree, equivalent qualification or related experience in a comparable role
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience of SAP and Salesforce.com
  • Proficient with MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc
  • Organised and diligent, committed to seeing activities and processes through
  • Experience of prioritising work to satisfy competing priorities
  • Ability to work autonomously and with a flexible team player mentality.
  • Fluent in English and any other language(s)

Desirable Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience of working in a matrix and/or geographically dispersed model
  • Experience in a communications or technology-based company
