L&Q is seeking an experienced Technical Coordinator to join the Trust’s Building Compliance Team working with the existing asbestos team.  You will assist in the delivery and implementation of the trusts asbestos policy as well as the Asbestos Reinspection programme. Coordinating the actions to the appropriate contractors, tracking progress and ensuring they are concluded in a timely manner.

The role will report into the Compliance Manager – Asbestos and Water and work closely alongside the existing Asbestos Officer and wider compliance team. You will be a key member of the team helping to deliver the trusts asbestos strategy.

You will be responsible for Keystone Generic Interface (KGI) returns and processing, processing contractor system access requests, processing invoices and raising orders via our internal systems (Training will be provided). You will assist the existing asbestos team with a range of administrative and process-based tasks.

This role will offer the chance to develop and learn from within with a clear personal development plan to be arranged You must possess excellent administration skills and the ability to organise, plan, report and prioritise effectively.  Basic knowledge of asbestos legislation, asbestos process and asbestos surveys would be desirable but not essential as upskilling will be provided.  You should be able to communicate with a range of internal departments and external contractors and assist the asbestos team in the day to day management of these contracts.

Essential and desirable skills sets and experience:

  • Strong administration and organisational skills
  • Basic Asbestos Legislative knowledge
  • Basic understanding of Asbestos survey types and asbestos removal techniques
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
  • Understanding of databases and the ability to quickly understand a range of IT systems
  • Excellent customer focus, communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate with and influence a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to use the full suite of MS Office packages.
