What we do

This interesting and varied role encompasses a wide range of activities and involves working collaboratively across the team and the wider firm to help manage the work we undertake for a large number of our audited entities. Given the complex regulatory nature of the market, you’ll be at the heart of providing high quality advice to our client facing engagement teams ensuring our work meets the FRC requirements supporting our firm commitments around KPMG’s quality agenda. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in relation to interpreting changes and new requirements in relation to the FRC Ethical Standard, SEC rules and IESBA Code of Ethics and managing the impact to the firm.

What you’ll be doing

  • Team consultations – from dealing with queries from client facing partners and directors on non-audit services to reviewing and approving formal ethics and independence consultations.
  • Leading senior stakeholder discussions on independence matters – particularly in respect of the firm’s business relationships and non-audit service fee requirements.
  • Projects – taking on the lead for various projects to respond to the regulators’ feedback and/or to enhance our processes and overall compliance – by using experience gained in the field, providing practical solutions, driving projects forward and maintaining momentum.
  • People – provide performance management to senior managers in the team.

What we are looking for

  • Demonstrable successful track record in operating at a Director/Senior Manager level role within a large-scale organisation either in statutory audit or other regulated business environment.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and communicate with people at all levels including the most senior within an organisation.
  • Confident and comfortable to act as a delegate for the Partner where required.
  • Support will be provided in reaching the required understanding of KPMG’s policy and guidance and the underlying regulations.
