This role is a key position in the team, leading on selected activity and supporting PR Managers/ Heads of PR on large scale campaigns. We would like to hear from applicants that have a strong digital/online PR background and experience in handling digital tactics and executions.

What you'll do:

  • Work on priority PR campaigns for key entertainment programming including original and acquired content as part of the Comedy, Entertainment, Acquisitions and Cinema PR team.

  • Work as part of a team on the delivery of priority campaigns managing individual aspects of an overall campaign (e.g., media relations, press events or creative executions) and have sole responsibility for publicising some shows.

  • Proactive pitching to media to place interviews, stories, images and clips around campaigns, with a particular focus on digital-first thinking

  • Media liaison - nurturing and building on an already strong list of contacts, particularly within digital/social outlet space

  • Build understanding of a broad range of media outlets - traditional, digital and social first - including entertainment, and film and other media to identify PR opportunities.

  • Event management including media days, press events etc.

  • Writing press releases, media alerts, programme information and other press materials as needed to the highest standard, researching and fact checking information as required

  • Helping to generate creative ideas which help promote Sky's content

  • Managing media interviews and chaperoning press and talent as required

  • Provide PR advice and guidance to internal stakeholders and manage internal relationships and approvals

  • Ensuring that press updates are delivered to the wider business and key stakeholders in a timely fashion

  • Work with a range of key stakeholders across the business including marketing, influencer and social media teams and commissioning, external agencies and production companies

What you'll bring:

  • Highly motivated individual with a proven passion and flair for PR and the media, as well as a strong passion for TV and film content

  • Understanding of PR and experience of working on PR campaigns, with around 3 years experience primarily focused in a digital PR environment

  • Excellent personal and written communication skills and a passion for great creative and editorial writing

  • Extensive experience pitching to digital journalists, an instinct for what makes a story and building and maintaining key relationships with an excellent network of contacts

  • Strong understanding of digital media and the everchanging media landscape

  • Experience in implementing effective PR campaigns and the ability to take initiative and work under pressure in a busy and fast paced environment - excellent planning skills with the ability to prioritise and work across multiple projects

  • Collaboration - ability to be good team player

  • Ability to act with autonomy, seeking solutions to problems and referring upwards for guidance or to gain agreement on a recommendation

  • Ability to communicate in a proactive and positive manner, building effective relationships both internally and externally

  • Ideally some experience working with celebrity talent

  • Ideally some experience of crisis management, or an understanding of the role of PR within issues management

  • Appreciation of Sky's position in the wider broadcasting industry
