Role Summary

This role will oversee key external communications priorities and issues in International Developed Markets (IDM) for our Hospital business. The Hospital business is responsible for our Covid-19 oral antiviral treatment, which is a top priority for Pfizer. The role requires partnership with multiple cross-functional teams spanning IDM and Global teams, close coordination with country communication leads, as well as other interrelated corporate affairs functions (e.g., policy & public affairs, media relations). The candidate will be a member of the Hospital IDM Leadership Team and will provide counsel and thought leadership support to the Hospital IDM Regional President and Leadership Team.

Role Responsibilities
  • Serving as the external communications point of contact for Hospital IDM Regional President and Leadership Team
  • Coordinating and implementing external comms strategy, managing brand milestone communications and supporting issues management communications across the region
  • Representing the views of the countries and ensure IDM country requirements are incorporated into global plans.
  • Developing thought leadership/executive visibility plans for IDM Regional President
Qualifications
  • Seasoned communications professional with proven pharmaceutical industry experience in global product communications, media relations or public relations preferable.
  • Experience in Marketing and/or PR required.
  • Proved track record of effective matrix working with well established relationships across Corporate Affairs and the IDM external communication network.
  • Experience in developing, leading and implementing communications and public relations plans.
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership project management, organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, oral, communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop, implement and measure success of PR and communications plans.
  • Ability to work effectively across functions and levels across highly matrixed organization and manage multiple projects against tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work closely with Pfizer leaders, demonstrating poise and executive presence.
  • Demonstrates a proactive, strategic approach focused on delivering high value communications that drive our reputation and revenue.
  • Issue management and agency management experience critical
  • A good working understanding of the media landscape and healthcare and regulatory systems in IDM




Work Location Assignment: Flexible
