Job Details

As the In Life Manager you will lead and develop a team that manages the successful introduction of all material and process changes into both manufacturing and service partners for all SKY hardware products, ensuring SKY's high standards of quality and compliance are maintained whilst minimizing associated cost and lead time.

What you'll do:
  • Lead, develop and grow a team to create and implement plans to reduce business risk, whilst delivering critical, un-planned material and process change requests.
  • Ensure all mandatory compliance driven changes are implemented in line with business requirements, identifying and implementing changes to reduce overall supply chain costs. Act on IQC, Early Life Return and Repair data to identify changes that drive improvements to product quality and reliability.
  • Take ownership and responsibility for delivering all Engineering Change Notices (ECN's) and Product Change Notice (PCN's) whilst driving improvements to internal systems and processes.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders across a wide range of teams (HW Eng, Soft Eng, Manufacturing, Compliance, Procurement) to ensure priorities are aligned, test plans created and approvals signed off in line with agreed timescales.
  • Create and manage the In Life Change testing budget, challenge standard testing processes and requirements to minimize cost, and manage third party test facilities to ensure capacity is available to meet business requirements.

What you'll bring:
  • Knowledge of hardware and electrical engineering principles on consumer electronic devices, be confident reviewing schematic designs and CAD PCB layouts with experience of EMC and RF testing.
  • Understanding of consumer product compliance requirements relating to product safety, radio, EMC, ROHS and REACH.
  • Confident communication skills when talking to senior stakeholders and demonstrable experience of leading, motivating and developing a successful technical team.
  • A natural self-starter, pro-active and resourceful, with a 'can-do' attitude who can work autonomously but also collaborate with teams across the business
  • Confidence in assessing risk, ability to remain calm under pressure, and proficiency in planning and prioritising tasks in a dynamic fast-paced environment

Our location takes some beating: we're practically in Brentwood station, which has regular trains to London Liverpool Street. If you find it easier to drive, there's some onsite parking, while Chatham Way car park is a short walk away.
