Job Details

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will manage the successful introduction of all material and process changes into both manufacturing and service partners for all SKY hardware products, ensuring SKY's high standards of quality and compliance are maintained whilst minimizing associated cost and lead time.

What you'll do:
  • Take ownership and responsibility for delivering all Engineering Change Notices (ECN's) and Product Change Notice (PCN's) whilst driving improvements to internal systems and processes.
  • Create and manage Engineering Change Notices to deliver a pro-active second source material plan reducing business risk, whilst continuing to deliver critical, un-planned material and process change requests.
  • Ensure all mandatory compliance driven changes are implemented in line with external deadlines.
  • Manage and deliver cost down related changes to reduce overall supply chain costs
  • Develop strong relationships and credibility with key stakeholders across a wide range of teams (HW Eng, Soft Eng, Manufacturing, Compliance, Procurement) to ensure priorities are aligned, test plans created and approvals signed off in line with agreed timescales.
  • Work closely with 3rd party suppliers and manufactures to organize trials, arrange sample builds and manage the successful introduction of Engineering changes into production.
  • Act on IQC, Early Life Return and Repair data, coordinating IQC special investigation requirements and working with suppliers to managing Failure Analysis to drive improvements to product quality and reliability.

What you'll bring:
  • Strong technical knowledge of hardware and electrical engineering principles on consumer electronic devices, confident reviewing schematic designs and CAD PCB layouts
  • Understanding of consumer product mandatory compliance requirements relating to product safety, radio, EMC, ROHS and REACH.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to organize and manage activities through to completion
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, proficiency in planning and prioritising tasks in a dynamic fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills with confidence and gravitas when talking to a wide range of stakeholders
  • A natural self-starter, pro-active and resourceful, with a 'can-do' attitude who can work autonomously but also collaborate with teams across the business
  • Ambition, desire to succeed and self-motivation to grow and learn new skills

Our location takes some beating: we're practically in Brentwood station, which has regular trains to London Liverpool Street. If you find it easier to drive, there's some onsite parking, while Chatham Way car park is a short walk away.
