And it's the role of our Chief Information Office (CIO) who provide the backbone and infrastructure upon which this bank of the future will sit.

Our Business Development Team in Technology Resilience & Workplace Engineering is looking for a flexible Engineer who understands what a modern workplace solution looks like, is motivated by challenging the status quo, and has a track record for helping to deliver positive change into the organisation.

We're at the forefront of promoting technical change with the colleague experience and acting as catalysts of technical change to the Group (while adhering to strategic direction and appropriate governance).

The Technical Consultancy & Solutions function in Business Development is responsible for:

  • Creating relationships with internal customers and colleagues in the Group Technology Teams and the business Value Streams

  • Representation of other relevant Engineering teams

  • Supporting all technical aspects required of Business Development activities (Solutioning, Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, Cost/Benefits Estimation, Risk and Data Classification)

  • Collaborating with Engineering Centres of Excellence and Architecture & Strategy to keep aligned with roadmaps and LBG Strategy

 

What will you be doing?

As one of our Engineers your current skills will help to instigate and design solutions for the whole of LBG. You'll be:

  • A technology change advocate: challenging the business-as-usual and bringing a new way of thinking about technology change, underpinned by modern principles

  • Operating in a fast-paced environment with the ability to work across different technologies, projects, and teams simultaneously

  • Analytical in your approach

  • A keen problem solver

You'll use and develop skills in the following areas:

  • A self-starter who collaborates with colleagues to challenge conventional approaches, develop new capabilities, not being constrained in how technology works today (part of your role will be defining the future)

  • Ability to share ideas will all levels of colleague

  • Good written and verbal communications

 

Technical Essentials:

  • Solid understanding of IT Architecture (Data/Application/Infrastructure/Security)

  • Knowledge of modern security techniques in Data, Applications, & Network

  • Experience of Microsoft 365 & E5 Suite

  • Technical Analysis

  • Technical Risk Management

  • Technical Cost Estimation

 

Technical Desirables:

  • Business Case creation

  • Knowledge of enterprise scale infrastructure

  • Governance

  • Emerging Technologies

  • Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform Fundamentals

  • Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning
