Resettlement Worker
We are looking for a Resettlement Worker to work with service users who are homeless or at risk of homelessness
Position: Resettlement Worker
Location: Ealing
Hours: Full time, 39 hours a week on average
Contract: 1 year fixed term contract
Salary: up to £24,000 per year

The Role
As a Resettlement Worker you will work with a case load of service users who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, developing interventions to sustain or secure accommodation through the creation and execution of Personal Housing Plans. Working towards targeted key performance indicators, you will provide advice on housing options and help people to maximise their financial security and independence through access to employment, training and volunteering opportunities and into paid employment.
Some other key responsibilities will include:
- Ensure all database systems are kept up to date
- Ensure all Key Performance Indicators are met on a weekly basis
- Liaise with relevant agencies, including private sector landlords
- Participate in the core work of the service, providing support to colleagues
- Provide Tenancy Sustainment Support to ensure that service users can access longer term support where required and maintain a tenancy
About you
To be successful in the role of Resettlement Worker you will need to a good understanding of the causes of homelessness and the willingness to work towards set targets and meet KPIs. You will also bring with you the following skills:
- The ability to create interventions with service users to address the causes of homelessness
- An understanding or willingness to learn of relevant housing and welfare benefits legislation
- Experience of preventing tenancy breakdown and supporting people to maintain their accommodation
- Experience of working with private landlords and ability to source them to house vulnerable adults
- The ability to formulate, implement and review tailored Personal Housing Plans with service users
- The ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with a range of stakeholders
- Experience of using computer systems, including databases as part of day-to-day work
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability work effectively to tight deadlines
- The ability to work autonomously
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately
