Who are the Sales & Trading Team?
We're focused on delivering robust and well written software platforms for the Front Office Sales & Trading Teams, ensuring high quality, scalable solutions.

Our team mission is to deliver high quality software, to ensure S&T delivery maintains high quality with minimal incidents, whilst building trusted relationships within IT and the business. We look to work in an agile and collaborative manner, always learning and improving ourselves and sharing knowledge with the wider team.

The successful candidate will work as part of the team covering Intraday Risk and PnL management software, developing a broad understanding of the systems and our business while developing and maintaining the platform. The job includes responsibility for changing and supporting the systems at a 3rd line support level.

What specifically will I focus on in this role?

Primarily you will focus on the development, maintenance and testing of new Java based software to support the S&T team, over the full software development lifecycle. Specific activities could include:

  • Developing well tested and robust code using Java and Spring in an Agile project environment, delivering value driven releases.
  • Delivering front office Risk software to a high standard
  • Identification of opportunities to automate and simplify
  • System and component ownership
  • Responsible for further production investigation, when handed over from support teams
  • Providing system guidance, where needed to Business Analysts, Product Owners, support team and other consumers of the service
  • Prepare changes to the required standard and complete all necessary audit artefacts
  • Adhere to LBG audit and control processes, SLA's and behaviours
  • Ad-hoc requests for information and subject matter expertise.
  • Coaching and mentoring of more junior development staff

This is a really important role because you'll support our intraday risk management platform development, which is critical to our traders for managing risk for our customers.

What skills, experience and knowledge do I need to apply for this role?

As this is a senior engineering position within a key regulatory function, we require specific experience of both the technical elements plus ideally a background within Markets in order to safely develop the software we require. Specifically, we would need to see evidence of:

  • High level of skill in Java
  • Good working knowledge of Business intelligence software
  • Capital Markets Risk management experience
  • Experience working within the demands of a front office environment
  • Kafka experience - Good working knowledge
  • Experience working within an Agile project environment & the ability to multi task in a pressurised environment.

If you have experience of any of the following desirable skills that would be a bonus, but please apply if you don't! Active Pivot, Service now knowledge, Automation experience, Cloud experience, Containerisation experience (Docker, Kubernetes)

This would be a great role if you…….

  • Are looking to work on an exciting greenfield development
  • Enjoy working within the field of investment banking
  • Are keen to develop regulatory knowledge

Together we make it possible.
