Devon Children's Services are looking for Residential Support Workers to join their team at our Children's Home in Tavistock. We are looking for enthusiastic staff to join the team in this new home.

Due to the location of the sites, access to your own transport is required.

As a Support Worker you will be a key member of our team, providing high standards of person-centred support and care to our service users. Through a creative and caring approach, you will build good relationships with both service users and their families and other stakeholders, supporting service users in the planning of goals and in teaching them life skills. Both personal care and participation in activities are key tasks for the role, so energy and initiative is vital.

Shifts involve day, night and weekend hours. The successful candidate may be required to work at one of our other homes.

What we'd like from you:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Effective organisational capability
  • Great team player and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Flexibility and resilience to respond to the changing needs of those who we support
  • A Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People's Workforce or Residential Childcare is not essential for this role but the successful candidate must be willing to undertake this qualification within a robust timescale
  • Strong 'can do' attitude.

Your Benefits

  • Priory Perks reward and discount scheme
  • Comprehensive induction
  • Pension scheme
  • We cover the cost of your enhanced disclosure check
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Commitment to your ongoing training and career progression
  • Employee recognition scheme.

The Priory Group has also launched Careers Pathways, which will provide you with opportunities to develop your skills, gain further qualifications and undertake apprenticeships for debt free training.
