This Learning Support Practitioner role is offered on a Permanent basis, working 22.5 per week. You will be based at HMYOI Cookham Wood, working with Young People aged 14 to 18.

In this role you will be required to;

Help raise expectations and aspirations of our learners, to enthuse, motivate and create opportunities for learning and engagement.

Support learner progression through, for example; identification of educational need/ course referral/ pre, on & post course support/ development of support plans.

Work with learners to support and develop personalised learning plans.

Continually develop your practice and skills, to engage in new initiatives and, to share best practice with colleagues.

Utilise policies and procedures (both Novus and HMPPS) to support the wider prison resettlement and skills strategy.

Work collaboratively as part of a local specialist education team and, positively contribute as part of the wider prison team.
