Recruitment to this vacancy approved by the Pandemic Crisis Response Team

As part of our ongoing drive to improve the quality of our homes and service delivery we are embarking on an ambitious project to take control of all data relating to our property assets and manage them from commencement of construction, through handover and long-term management and operation until final disposal or demolition. This will include both structured data and unstructured data such as documents, diagrams, schematics and 2D or 3D digital models and the associated taxonomies for tagging, retrieval and updating over the lifetime of the assets.

The Data Design Analyst will ensure that the data structures we adopt will support BIM-2 and other relevant construction data frameworks and standards and enable the information collected during construction to be accessible and usable for downstream needs such as:

·       compliance with forthcoming building and fire safety regulations,

·       lifecycle cost prediction and monitoring,

·       investment decisions,

·       component accounting,

·       asset appraisal, and

·       smart buildings and associated predictive maintenance

As a data design professional you bring a passion for eliminating data silos and driving the design of trusted, shared data assets across all business processes and business areas. You have extensive experience as lead designer in producing conceptual and logical data models to a high standard and writing robust data definitions and business rules as part of these. Your experience of dimensional data modelling includes the design and delivery of conformed data assets and other artefacts to satisfy the business’s need for analysis and insight. You are a team player who actively contributes to the success of the entire team. Familiarity with data frameworks, methodology and standards relating to data and data design is expected. Experience with tools such as erwin or ER/Studio will be an advantage.

Your extensive experience of the construction and property management industries will ideally include engagement in BIM implementations or exposure to BIM-2 standards. Experience of smart buildings or digital twins will be a significant plus. You will be aware of the Hackitt Report and the consequential changes in legislation.

You will work collaboratively with the business data owners and subject matter experts in construction, finance, housing operations and building services to understand the data requirements and ensure structural data issues are eliminated through process and data design. You will champion and drive the business design for master and reference data and data analytics datasets. You will work with data engineers and developers in the IT department and third-party solution providers who will derive physical designs from your logical designs and implement them. You will support activities that enable value to be extracted from the data / information assets. You will partner with the IT Data Architecture, BI and solution teams to ensure the business data design is translated correctly to deliver the trusted data assets.

You will be a full-time member of the programme team directed by the programme lead, but under the technical supervision of the Head of Data.

If you believe you have the qualities we are after and are interested in working for an organisation that can really make a difference to people’s lives, then please apply without delay.
