Job Details

For over 30 years, we’ve helped people transform their homes through finding the flooring that’s right for their lifestyle. Not only helping them find that perfect floor but providing a full end-to-end service, irrespective of whether the customer’s journey starts in store or online.

That’s where you come in!

The tax and financial reporting accountant will be a key member of the UK finance team reporting to and working closely with the Financial Controller to deliver excellence in Group wide tax reporting and planning as well as supporting the statutory reporting cycles for UK entities. The role is a highly technical position which will play a critical role in tax reporting, compliance, planning and assurance.

The position will be responsible for providing high quality tax compliance for all UK entities, preparation of submissions to appropriate tax authorities.  Along with tax reporting for the annual audit that feed the Groups disclosures.

The successful individual should also have a good understanding of financial accounting and ideally have had exposure to multi-national consolidations.

Carpetright is happy to consider candidates from either a direct or indirect tax background who has a minimum of 3 years' practical UK tax experience gained in either practice or industry – ideally retail but not essential.

Our obsession for finding the right fit isn’t just for customers but you too. The role is based at our Purfleet office and is 3 full days per week. We have free parking on site, lovely food in our on-site subsidised staff restaurant and a friendly bunch of people to work with!
