Job Details

Bromley Healthcare is a community interest company providing a wide range of services including community nursing services such as district nursing, health visiting to specialist nurses, as well as therapy services for children, young people and adults. Being born from NHS Bromley’s community provider unit we have been providing community services to the people of Bromley for many years and we have a wealth of experience.

Bromley Healthcare is a great place to work. The unique way we deliver services and offer everyone who works here a voice, means that your career with us will be rewarding. Social Enterprises are a fairly new and exciting way to deliver healthcare, offering many of the traditional advantages of the NHS (such as excellent training and development) with the freedom for innovation by being able to reinvest any surpluses we make into the community.

Priority consideration will be given to Bromley Healthcare staff formally identified as being at risk.

Registered Nurse  - Post Acute Rehabilitation, Band 5

£24,907 - £30,615 Pa - £3784 - £4592 Pa HCAS

Please be aware that any appointment towards the middle or upper end of this salary range will be subject to experience, particularly any current relevant NHS experience.

Are you interested in caring for patients who have recently had an acute hospital stay and wish to develop your assessment and nursing skills in a supportive but challenging environment?
Perhaps you are someone who would like to move into community nursing and wishes to take the first step away from an acute hospital environment if so then please consider coming and meeting the friendly team at Bromley Healthcare Rehabilitation Services, based on Foxbury Ward with Queen Marys Hospital in Sidcup.
We are a 30 bedded unit that provides rehabilitation to patients following a period of acute illness/injury.

The successful candidate will be expected to work both days and nights covering 7 days a week.

Bromley Healthcare is an innovative, forward thinking Community Interest Company providing Community healthcare to Bromley residents and also certain services in Croydon and Lewisham.

The service also provides Intermediate Care Programmes to patients in Bromley and embraces nursing, therapy, social care, mental health and medical aspects of care. The truly multi disciplinary team assists with the rehabilitation of clients in a community based setting. Care is redirected to other generic services as required on discharge. Comprehensive assessments of complex cases are a key part of the service.

As a Band 5 nurse you are responsible for ensuring the effective provision of nursing care for patients in the unit. You may be asked to act up for the senior Staff Nurse and will regularly take charge of a nursing caseload when you have achieved the relevant competencies.

You will share responsibility with the therapists for the management of rehabilitation programmes for patients while on the unit. You will carry continuing responsibility for the comprehensive assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of care programmes. You are accountable for providing high standards of nursing care that embody the 6 C’s and for determining the activity of her/his support staff.

You will also find that Bromley Healthcare is a unique organisation to work for. The organisation was established in April 2011 and is an employee owned social enterprise, with over 800 staff including Nurses, Therapists, Doctors and Dentists. Community health services are very wide ranging. From health visiting to district nursing, school nurses to specialist nurses, Bromley Healthcare’s services help new parents to care for new born children and older people to continue living at home through care and support. They also have a wide range of therapy services for adults and children, including speech and language therapy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy whilst specialist services focused on preventing diseases and supporting those living with specific conditions such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) or Diabetes
Bromley Healthcare’s model is unique because everyone who works here has the chance to be a shareholder and play an active role in how the organisation is run. Any surplus income we make is reinvested in services for our patients. From the start Bromley Healthcare has tried to harness the passion and commitment of their staff and to understand and develop modern systems, technologies and ways of operating in a quest to make sure we make this an exciting and rewarding place to work.

Full time positions available working nights only - part time hours will be considered for the right candidate
