Be an integral part of the Commodities and Global Markets Business Compliance team, in London. This is an exciting opportunity to support the business and gain a broad experience within the Commodities and Global Markets Business Compliance team.

As part of the Compliance Division within our Risk Management Group, this highly visible role is based on the London trading floor, supporting Macquarie’s Fixed Income, Currencies and Physical markets businesses. This also comprises our Securitisation and Quantitative Investment Strategies businesses.

You will be required to advise the business daily on regulatory advice and guidance on rules and internal policies and support them with new products and services. In addition, you will monitor activities including desk reviews and thematic reviews for compliance with FCA and Exchange rules and requirements.

You will be responsible for Exchange & Regulator enquiries and contribute to ad hoc projects within the broader regional and global compliance teams, including preparing and delivering Compliance training materials. You will assess the impact of new financial regulations and provide input to the internal Compliance policies and procedures as necessary.

In addition, you will provide advice on Regulatory Reporting (eg. MIFIR, EMIR, SFTR etc). You will work closely with the Risk Surveillance team on escalated matters by investigating and resolving escalation alerts and any self-escalations raised.

Your strong understanding of Commodities, Fixed Income and Currencies markets, including corporate bond and loan, credit derivative and securitised debt markets is important in this role. In addition, experience and strong knowledge of the UK, EU and US regulatory rules and requirements, including MIFID2, Market Abuse Regulation, EMIR and Dodd-Frank is crucial in this role.

You will have excellent relationship and communication skills, be naturally collaborative, process driven, solutions orientated, pragmatic and proportionate during the course of your professional duties. As a strong team player, you will work well within a team environment and have the ability to work independently.

Your experience of trading floor compliance at a commodity trading or financial services firm will be well utilized in this role.

Working at Macquarie

We believe in providing a positive environment for all our staff that is innovative and inspiring. For our female staff, Macquarie’s senior leaders are actively involved in increasing the representation of females in management positions.  In June 2014, we launched a mentoring programme for females, with the following two objectives:

  • Address female retention rates at Senior Manager level and improve our diverse pipeline of talent;
  • Engage female Senior Managers by providing tools and support around their personal development;

The programme pairs up Senior Managers with Directors, who meet on a monthly basis, and are supported by active group sessions (bi-monthly) with an external facilitator.

We select some of the brightest minds to help us in solving complex challenges for our clients.  We recognise that recruiting talent from varied backgrounds is essential to improving our understanding of the marketplace, and enhancing creativity and problem-solving capabilities in our businesses.

Because of this, our commitment to you is to create a diverse and inclusive workplace regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity or cultural background.

We make this commitment not only because it is the right thing to do but it opens up a world of opportunity, securing the future of our people, our success and our business
