With the regulatory changes of both Open Banking and PSD2, it's becoming increasingly important for LBG to create a scalable, robust API platform and associated strategy. The power of accessing and combining banking information from all different providers, as well as exposing new services externally is huge, and has the potential to create whole new business models.

Who we're looking for:

We're looking for someone who is a passionate, inspiring and commercially focussed, a product leader that can help shape and evolve this product and strategy moving forwards. The API lab is at the heart of Lloyds Banking Group strategy to build the bank of the future that ultimately aims to be the best bank for customers and partners that will help Britain prosper. You'll be joining the lab, and building products that customers will love.

Your main accountability is to ensure and evidence that the Team is working on the right set of Business Problems ("building the right things"), to credibly interface to the Business partners and to passionately focus on delivering value for the bank and for customers.

Working in our API Enabler lab, this role will take charge of one of our features / capabilities which are helping to drive a step change in how 15 million customers bank online. Whether it's the API strategy, Design System, App framework, Security Framework, Future of our Web journeys, each of these key product areas is shaping the way we create digital experiences.

Acting often in a B2B or B2B2C construct, the role will require you to not only understand end customer needs, but to also ensure the ability to understand the needs of our internal customers and build a product capability that is strategically aligned to our 'Bank of the Future' agenda.

So what are we looking for in you?

You'll have demonstrable experience creating an API focused platform and new B2B business models that demonstrate the API economy. Additionally you'll be proficient in the principles and practices of great product management, familiar with the technical aspects of automation of processes, micro service, cloud based API architecture, software testing and confident talking at a technical level with engineers, architects and testers.

Above all you're someone who's a big thinker, someone who wants to change the face of financial services, and ultimately someone that wants to disrupt the status quo, and create a new norm of 'API First' in the banking industry

What we'll need from you:

  • Experience working with technical and cross-functional teams to deliver change
  • Having led, shaped and delivered API driven initiatives using Agile methodology
  • Experience in cloud based digital product initiatives
  • Experience of having worked in a B2B environment
  • Proven experience in strategic and large transformations
  • Advanced business insight
  • Ability to work and influence senior stakeholders

What else could you bring with you?

  • Experience of creating and leading Product Roadmap aligning with both Technical and Business priorities
  • Proven record of managing process improvement initiatives both in product and development space
  • Able to build a platform
  • Experience working with OKR's

What will you get in return?

As well as a competitive salary, this role offers:

  • 30 days holiday (plus bank holidays)
  • A total reward package that offers discounted lifestyle, financial and protection benefits you can tailor to suit your lifestyle
