Position Summary

The Ingest Supervisor will be responsible for a team of Ingest Operators and their continued growth and development, whilst overseeing the accurate preparation of material into Stratus, VPMS, ScheduAll, DIVA archive, and the entry of metadata onto broadcast systems.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading, motivating and managing a team of shift Ingest Operators ensuring their continued growth and development through regular performance management and reviews
  • Responsible for shift management, providing first line support to the Ingest Team
  • In conjunction with the other Supervisor, proactively manage under-performance to quickly eliminate performance issues
  • Responsible for ensuring Team fully understand and follow all Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs), arranging necessary training where relevant
  • Manage exceptions planning regarding late delivery and Fast Track requirements as necessary across the team
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely ingest of all content for transmission
  • Responsible for accurate metadata entry into all applications used in the facility
  • Responsible for server space management
  • Contribution to procedure development and implementation
  • Responsible for raising technical issues with Engineering and ensuring all details are captured and logged
  • Contribution to resource allocation
  • Responsible for keeping the operational area in good order
  • Attending meetings as and when required
  • Ensures that all aspects of OFCOM Codes of Practice relating to the channels are observed
  • Providing cover for breaks if required

Requirements

  • A thorough operational knowledge of ingest, QC processes
  • A thorough operational knowledge of transmission and edit technologies
  • A thorough operational knowledge of broadcast equipment including vectorscopes, waveforms, microns, decoders and encoders
  • Strong understanding of video and audio theory, SD and HD signals
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Engineering processes
  • Strong understanding of LTH procedures and processes
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Demonstrable quality control experience 
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong team player
  • Ability to hold themselves and others accountable for results
  • Ability to think outside the box and identify alternatives
  • Ability to identify and prioritise problems
