We have a fantastic opportunity for an Audit Partner to join a Reading based Practice on a permanent but part-time basis. The organisation aim to bring their current audit function in-house and are looking for an experienced individual to join their company as a Partner. The workload is part-time and ad hoc but they are ultimately looking at a long term and senior hire.

The Organisation an Culture

This opportunity is with a small Reading based Accountancy practice. A huge majority of the workforce are working parents and they actively seek out engagement from candidates looking to work flexibly or around family commitments. This culture is embedded throughout the business and encouraged from Senior Managers.

Their client base are typically SME’s and some operate internationally. Therefore experience of auditing across different currencies would be advantageous.

The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Accountant or Senior External Auditor, looking for a ad-hoc active commitment while still enjoying being a part of something bigger. It might suit candidates looking to significantly reduce their hours or take a break from full-time work while keeping themselves active within their industry. Equally, it could offer a great opportunity for a freelancer to increase their hours and hold a Partner position in a flourishing company. The current Audit workload is around 50 hours per year, with a concentration of hours around February and March, ahead of the end of the financial year. The company envisage this becoming an increasingly significant role and therefore hours / workload could increase.

The successful candidate will lead the companies external audit function. This will involve visiting clients in the UK and some travel to Prague. All travel expenses will be paid for in addition to all the Partnership registration fee’s.

Experience of executing financial audits across a SME client base is essential. Any experience of auditing multi-currencies would be beneficial.

Timescales 

The client are looking to interview in early December with a view to have the position secured before Christmas or early January at the latest. They would like to build a strong relationship with the appointed candidate through January and early February. This will be a series of meetings and team days in the office and remotely. The main audit workload will start in February and involves a short trip to Prague (expenses covered).
