Job Details

The UK Hydrographic Office is a leading centre for hydrography, providing marine geospatial data to inform maritime decisions. We work with a wide range of data suppliers and partners to support maritime navigation, safety, security and marine development around the UK and worldwide.

This is an opportunity to join the UKHO Impact Analysis Team and play a key role supporting the interpretation and assessment of data for its impact on UKHO Products and Services.

You will interpret and assess incoming data and decide what action needs to be taken to maintain the safety and quality of UKHO products and services in light of incoming data and provide task instructions to the production area to carry out required actions.

The primary route to becoming an Impact Analysis B3 Team Member is to be selected to become an IA Trainee on an A1 to B3 development pathway.  This pathway will entail participation in the Impact Analysis formal internal training course and then a period of consolidation – where you will be measured against the B3 Operational Performance Statement and Competency Framework.  Once you have satisfactorily and consistently met the core B3 requirements you will be promoted to B3.

You will need practitioner level experience of examining and assesing analogue and digital hydrographic data and maintaining and verifying navigational products and datasets. Familiarity with ENCs and S57 and all production toolkits is also essential.

In return, UKHO offer a range of benefits to support your lifestyle, including generous leave allowance, flexible working hours, a lift-share scheme and regular training and development opportunities.

We offer maternity, adoption and/or shared parental leave of up to 26 weeks' full pay, followed by 13 weeks' statutory pay and a further 13 weeks' unpaid leave; plus paternity leave of two weeks' full pay, subject to certain qualifying criteria.
