CLIC Sargent Paediatric Oncology Outreach Nurse (POON) p\/t and Oncology Day Case Sister p\/t - 37.5 hours per week, 1 WTE.

A fantastic and rare opportunity has arisen for an additional experienced children's oncology Sisterto join our team. You will be based in our dedicated children's daycare oncology unit and the role involves approximately 60% on the day case ward, working alongside the nursing team, and 40% alongside another POON covering the children's community outreach nursing service.

We are a Level 3 paediatric oncology shared case unit (POSCU) , weoffer shared care oncology to Sussex and beyond. We have a small and friendly, dedicated paediatric oncology team comprising of 3 lead consultants, a CLIC Sargent children's community nurse, 2 paediatric oncology CNS's, a Macmillan late effects CNS and a band 5 and 6 oncology staff nurse\/sisters, as well as psychologist and pharmacist.

We are a busy and constantly growing service.

Ideally you will be currently with children with cancer and have experience of working in a tertiary children's oncology centre and also a paediatric oncology shared care unit. You will have a degree, a recognised children's oncology course\/pathway, be chemo competent.

  • Posts in the Trust are subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal spent and unspent convictions, reprimands, and cautions.
