This role leads a crucial part of the Insight & Governance model, by providing risk governance and insight thought leadership and excellent execution across these hugely significant important parts of the Group for our customers.

What would you be getting involved with?

  • Where relevant, lead and manage a high performing team, developing colleagues through stretching objectives, feedback and coaching.
  • Acts as a source of professional expertise to evaluate, review, investigate, challenge & mitigate the potential for risk in assigned areas of the business
  • Assists in the development of - and manages the implementation of short , medium and long-term plans in the context of the strategic direction, taking into account the risk appetite, governance and regulatory requirements
  • Leads, develops and implements processes to deliver Group Risk policy, oversight and assurance, aligned to own area and agreeing remediation plans as necessary
  • Prepares and interprets, with insight and information from multiple sources, recommendations for action, which also provide a basis for delivering challenging guidance and advice to influence decisions and behaviours in assigned business areas
  • Initiates, leads and delivers agreed change programmes to achieve continuous improvement to processes and systems
  • Communicates and explains change effectively. Plans and implements changes gaining commitment and understanding, minimising disruption to service.

Key accountabilities…
Lead a team charged with the production of high quality risk committee reports / packs and the delivery of other key reporting for senior management

  • Set strategy and direction for the timely and accurate production of high quality risk committee reports/packs
  • Work as part of a team which supports report completion and pack production for Divisional and Business level committees, including action tracking for packs across COO Business Risk
  • Be an SME for risk committees and associated governance
  • Explore and encourage new technologies to drive efficiencies
