About The Role

We’re looking for an Enterprise Architect to join us on a permanent basis at our tech hub in Stratford. As Enterprise Architect, you’ll play a vital part in facilitating and supporting the organisation in translating our strategy into operational execution, through the application of objective and unambiguous models.

Reporting to the Head of Architecture, this is a key position that combines a cross organisational view with programme delivery needs.

You will support the I.T. leadership team in establishing and promoting the best strategy to accomplish our goals and objectives across the programme portfolio. Our aim is to create a shared vision, motivating members of the enterprise whilst providing clear direction in order to achieve our ambitious goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Establish the overall solutions architecture framework to guide the design of a business application and the implementation of selected infrastructures such as technologies, platforms, databases, data communications, data discovery, modelling and access strategy, standards, procedures, processes, quality assurance, training, and other components needed to support the architecture and make it functional.

  • Reviewing architect on solution architectures

  • Defines and maintains architectural principles, frameworks and standards

  • Assessing architectural risks and proposing mitigation

  • Working with all stakeholders (Project Managers, Product Owners, Delivery Managers and Solutions Architects) to ensure architecture principles are upheld

  • Assessing global vs local view of solutions

  • Maintaining application/systems catalogues

  • Create business/service capability models

  • Make the business and technology stakeholders aware when their decisions do not fit model – use formal risk waiver processes

  • Perform key architectural reviews of as-is architectures and definition of to-be architectures

Requirements

Skill set

  • A broad, enterprise-wide view of the business along with an aptitude for strategy, process and capability mapping, technology and governance

  • The ability to recognise structural issues within the organisation, functional interdependencies and cross-silo redundancies

  • Subject matter expertise in Enterprise Architecture principles and practice

  • Familiarity with the numerous standards, conventions and communities involved in the Enterprise Architecture discipline.

  • Capability to conduct technology requirement analyses at various levels of the enterprise and identify viable alternatives to fulfil those requirements

  • Experience using model-based representations that can be adjusted as required to collect, aggregate or disaggregate complex and conflicting information about the business

  • The ability to visualise and create high-level models that can be used in future analysis to extend and mature the architecture

Experience

  • The broad responsibility of this role requires a solid understanding of all the major areas of I.T. and I.T. strategy, a principled approach to broader architectural challenges and opportunities, and a strong grasp of technology and solutions allied with strong leadership and people skills.

  • Ideally at least 3-5 years in an Enterprise Architecture role

  • Broad experience and understanding of the Gambling & Betting industry, the Technology industry and some other industries (e.g. banking, retail, public sector and/or managing technology-enabled business change or related activities)

  • Proven record of delivering value from IT at an executive level, bringing the benefits of technology to resolve issues while also managing costs, risk and resources

  • Ability to understand the needs of non-technical customers, to conceptualise, launch and deliver technology-enabled business change projects and business transformation

  • Leadership qualities and ability to coordinate physical and virtual resources and initiatives

  • Executive-level interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills, good listener, ability to provide a trusted voice at the decision-making table and be an advocate of Ladbrokes Coral vision and value proposition
